AUI Board of Trustees Visit ALMA
The AUI Board of Trustees held their annual Board Meeting in Chile on October 16-17, 2008. Trustees and AUI staff had the opportunity to visit both the OSF and the AOS sites where they were able to see first hand the tremendous progress being accomplished in the ALMA construction.
"THE SOUL (ALMA ) of astronomy is taking over the body in Region II; Progress of the giant observatory which is being built in northern Chile". An article was published on the front page of the Economy section of the La Segunda newspaper on November 5, 2008, reporting on the visit of the Associated Universities Board to the ALMA site in Chile. It describes the latest ALMA developments on the antennas, technical buildings, and the increasing number of new employees.
