AUI is committed to maintaining a healthful and safe work environment for its employees and neighbors. To achieve this goal the active cooperation of all employees is required. Every injury incurred at work, and every situation that could jeopardize the health or safety of any person, must be immediately reported to the injured party’s supervisor or to the local AUI safety official.
AUI also expects each employee to maintain reasonable interactions with the private medical community to protect his or her health. If an employee becomes aware of any circumstance that significantly affects his/her ability to perform the essential functions of a position, the employee should discuss the matter with his/her supervisor. Under no circumstance should an employee permit a health matter to jeopardize the safety and health of other employees, consultants, vendors or guests. AUI may require an employee to successfully pass a medical examination when required by law to perform a job or when it is necessary to be certain that an employee is able to perform work assignments in a safe and efficient manner.
